Descobrint Lapònia

Anant amunt i avall per descobrir Finlàndia. Aquesta vegada ha tocat anar a visitar Lapònia (nord) concretament la ciutat de Rovaniemi, coneguda perquè hi ha el poble del Pare Noel. El viatge començava passant la nit de divendres al tren, així doncs el moviment del tren "t'ajudava" a agafar el son per arribar a Rovaniemi ben d'hora al matí, just per veure a sortir el sol. Per poca estona vaig veure el sol, una estrella que és cara de veure i renoi com es troba a faltar, i com vaig gaudir! :)

Per tant, la ciutat ens donava la benvinguda amb una alba preciosa i una mica de fresqueta, estàvem a uns -7 graus... !! Vam anar cap a visitar Santa Claus village. En el mateix recinte hi ha dos pares noels. En el primer que vàrem anar a visitar no sabíem si havíem entrat en un túnel del terror.. ja que les llums predominants eren el vermell i el negre i la música, pel meu parer, no era la més adient. Per tant, les primeres sensacions no van ser les millors. El segon lloc va ser més bonic ja que era més acollidor. Ambdós, vam anar a tirar-nos la foto de rigor, el Pare Noel va estar xerrant una bona estona amb nosaltres, així que ja sap on és Catalunya!! 

Apart del Pare Noel pots trobar botigues on pots comprar tot tipus de records, per tant, esdevé un indret turisic i comercial. Tot i que quan es va fer fosc, és a dir, al voltant de les tres del migdia el Santa Claus village passa a tenir un encant especial amb les llums de colors, el fred i la neu. En aquell indret ja és nadal (en finés joulu). 

Les temperatures eren baixes des de feia dies així doncs els llacs ja comencen a estar glaçats fet que ja pots caminar i conduir per sobre el gel! Ha de ser una experiència brutal poder conduir sobre el gel (espero fer-ho ben aviat) fet que caminar ja ho vàrem poder fer. Tot conduint pel bosc de sobte ens van travessar un ramat de rens, preciosos!!

Després de passar dos dies a Rovaniemi, altre vegada agafàvem el tren per tornar a casa, però abans havíem de canviar de tren  a Tampere, així doncs vam decidir fer de turistes a Tampere a les 6 del matí que era l'hora que ens deixava el tren. Una hora diferent per fer el turística, així veus com una ciutat es desperta :)

Finlàndia cada moment em sorprèn, en el tren de Tampere cap a Hyvinkää, un vagó estava destinat pels nens i nenes ja que hi havia un lloc adaptat perquè poguessin jugar i també gaudir de la lectura amb una petita biblioteca. Fantàstic!

I’m going up and down to discover Finland. This time I have gone to visit Lapland, in a city called Rovaniemi, which is famous because there is the Santa Claus village. The journey began spending the Friday night in the train, so we arrived in Rovaniemi the next morning. We saw the sunrise. I could see the sun just for a few minutes; I cannot see this star very often in here and I miss it, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Therefore, this city welcomed us with a beautiful sunrise and a little bit of cold, -7 degrees Celcius... we went to visit the Santa Claus village. There are two Santa Clauses in this village. The first place where we visited Santa Claus, was like a tunnel of terror: the lights were predominantly red and black, and we didn’t like the music. We felt that the place was dark and I didn’t like the place. Therefore, first impressions were not the best. The second place was more beautiful, because it was more colourful and the music was more cheerful, so we felt more comfortable! We went to both of the places to take pictures with the Santa Clauses, and we talked with both of them for a few minutes.

You can find a lot of stores to buy presents as well, so it appeared as a commercial place. But around three o’clock in the afternoon it was dark, and the Santa Claus village changed. It was lovely and special because there are colored lights and the snow. So it is as in Christmas (in Finnish, “joulu”). 

The temperature had been low for some days, so the lakes were starting to be frozen. We could walk there, and we saw a car on the ice. I think that it should be an amazing experience to drive on ice, and I hope to do so soon :) While driving through the woods, a herd of reindeer suddenly crossed the road, so fantastic!!

We took the train from Rovaniemi on Sunday night to come back at home. We had to switch the train in Tampere, so we took the advantage and decided to visit this city. We could see the city at 6 o’clock in the morning. It is nice how this city wakes up in the morning.

Finland surprises me very often. On the train from Tampere to Hyvinkää, one car was intended for children, as there was a place for children to play and enjoy reading in a small library. So it is fantastic!

Què és marraskuu?

Doncs Marraskuu vol dir novembre amb finés. Aquest mes és el mes més dur ja que les fulles han caigut del arbres, per tant el color predominant passa a ser el gris. A part d’això, cada dia és més curt, aproximadament cada setmana s’escurça uns 25 minuts (kaksikymmentäviisi minutia en finés), així que la foscor ja està venint. En aquest mes les pluges, el vent, la fred i la foscor són els protagonistes principals, per tant ja us podeu imaginar quina mandra fa sortir de casa quan aquests quatre elements es posen d'acord.

Tenint en comptes doncs les condicions meteorològiques la velocitat màxima de les autopistes canvia, així que passa de 120 a 100. També és hora de canviar els pneumàtics d'estiu pels d'hivern tant del cotxe, de la bicicleta...

D'altra banda a causa de la manca de sol es recomana que les persones prenguin suplements vitamínics. En els supermercats i farmàcies hi ha seccions només dedicades als suplements vitamínics.  Tot i que en els supermercats pots trobar unes làmpades que fan de "sol", així cada dia pots percebre de manera artificial els beneficis del sol.

No obstant, cal ser positius i vam començar el mes de novembre amb un sol radiant i aquesta setmana hem pogut gaudir de la primera nevadeta, així que ja puc dir que ja he tocat neu. Tot i que les previsions pels propers dies ja són de núvols, boira i pluja.

Així que al mal temps bona cara i a la mandra un bon bastó!! :)

“Marraskuu” means November in Finnish. This is the most hardest months, because the leaves have fallen from the trees and therefore the color grey becomes the predominant color. Apart from that, every day is shorter than the previous day, and every week we have 25 minutes less of light, so the darkness is coming! This month the rain, wind, cold and darkness are the main characters, so you can imagine how lazy you can be to leave from home when these four elements happen the same time.

The weather conditions are an important reason why the speed limit for the highway will be changed from 120 km/h to 100 km/h in October. On the other hand, due to the lack of sun, it is recommended that people take vitamin D supplements. But, you can actually buy an especially made bright-light lamp (“kirkasvalolamppu”) that becomes "artificial sunshine". It helps the symptoms of winter depression (“kaamosmasennus”), because this type of depression is believed to be related to the lack of light. The bright-light therapy is very effective, but these lamp are also very expensive!

However, we must be positive because November started with with a bright sun, but the weather forecast for the becoming days is full  of clouds, rain and wind. So we must be positive, as in a Catalan saying, in the bad weather you must make a good face and in the lazy a good stick. :)
